Mayor’s Ride June 28, 2018!
Celebrate #BikeMonth In Greater Sudbury!
In 2017, the Province of Ontario official recognized the month of June as Ontario Bike Month! This year, on June 5, Mayor Bigger proclaimed June as Bike Month in Greater Sudbury.
To help celebrate #BikeMonth locally, the Sudbury Cyclists Union is hosting a community bike ride with Mayor Brian Bigger. Come on out, meet fellow residents who bike and explore some of the new cycling infrastructure that has been installed recently. Marisa Talarico, the City’s Active Transportation Coordinator will also be on the ride, and we may have a few other councillors attend too!
When: Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 6:30 pm
Where: Meet at the Farmer’s Market parking lot on Elgin Street. Parking is free after 6:00 pm.
Details: This ride will provide participants with tips on how to ride your bike safely on a variety of cycling infrastructure types and highlight how to navigate pedestrian crossovers, crosswalks, intersections, and more. The ride will begin downtown; go through Bell Park to the South End and back. The ride will be between 1.5 to 2 hours long and is suitable for people with some cycling experience.
