WHAT WE HEARD FROM YOU
YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO BIKE SAFELY AROUND THE CITY
We heard that you want to be able to: bike safely on busy streets, with bike routes that are separated from motor traffic.
You can ask that safe, separated cycling infrastructure be made a top priority on major roads like Paris/Notre Dame, Lasalle, Barry Downe, Lorne, Kingsway and Elm.
You can share that you want to be able to bike safely around the City in the near future – not in 11-15 or more years. You can share that you want it to be a top priority in our transportation plan to retrofit our main streets with safe bike routes that keep you and your family separated from motor vehicles.
WHAT WE HEARD FROM YOU
THE LAURENTIAN UNIVERSITY TRAILS ARE TOO PRECIOUS TO THE COMMUNITY TO BE LOST
We heard that you want the legacy of this trail system and natural area to be protected.
You can ask that the proposed road through the Laurentian University trails be removed from the map of the recommended road network, so that the threat to this area is removed. The proposed road is called the ‘South Bay Road Extension’ or the Southern University Link
You can share that the community, social and environmental value of this natural area is too high to give up. You can share that traffic modelling in the Transportation Master Plan showed that the road link is not essential to accommodate traffic volumes and would not help to alleviate congestion.
