Happy New Year!

It’s January 2012, and the SCU is gearing up for this year’s activities and initiatives. This year, some of our social activites will include urban cycling rides, BBQs, and cycling movie nights. The SCU will also focus on some key cycling campaigns to improve cycling in Sudbury, including providing input to Sudbury’s Official Plan and Transportation Study, lobbying for safer cycling and additional cycling infrastructure, getting more bike racks throughout the city, and presenting to Community Action Networks.

In January, we are focusing our efforts on providing your thoughts and priorities to the City of Sudbury, which is currently developing plans that need to include cycling development. Input meetings will be held on January 11th for the Transportation Study and on January 23rd for the Official Plan. Plan to participate! If you can’t come in person, just send us your thoughts via email to admin@sudburycyclistsunion.ca or via the comment form below and we’ll make sure that the city gets your message.
