Ride with Lyndon Ferguson
Save the date!
July 23th to 26th 2014 will be a few exhausting but rewarding days for Lyndon Ferguson. The 24 year old LU Graduate will be cycling a total of 500 kilometres in memory of his brother Taylor during the second annual Taylor Ferguson Memorial Ride.
Over the course of four days, Ferguson will cycle 500 kilometres from Blind River to Sudbury, and Sudbury to North Bay in order to raise funds for the Taylor Ferguson Memorial Trust Fund which supports the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation’s “Send-A-Kid To Camp” program.
The Taylor Ferguson Memorial Trust Fund was established in 2008 in honour of Taylor Ferguson, a young man who loved the outdoors. He died in a boating accident while on a weekend camping trip with friends a very short time after his 20th birthday. The fund was created with the hope of other children being able to enjoy Taylor’s passions in his memory.
Ride organizer Lyndon Ferguson invites cyclists and friends to join him on the final segment of the ride at Adamsdale Playground on Second Avenue on July 26th at 11:00am. This circuit will consist of riding two separate 10 kilometre loops through the Minnow Lake area. Each loop will pass Adamsdale Playground, so riders can feel free to break off from the group ride at any time.
On July 23rd Ferguson will cycle 125 kilometres through Greater Sudbury; July 24th completing 175 kilometres from Blind River – Sudbury; July 25th will see 180 kilometres from Sudbury – North Bay- Sturgeon Falls. The final leg of the ride will take place the morning of July 26th.
Please come for 11:00am to join in the ride with Lyndon or simply for the finale celebration over some delicious hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments.
