Provincial MPP Candidates Survey
The SCU participates in a provincial advocacy initiative called OntarioCAN – the Ontario Cycling Advocacy Network. See more info here: OntarioCAN
OntarioCAN is an advocacy program of the Share the Road Coalition. The intent is to bring local cycling issues to the attention of Share the Road, and to connect with MPPs on Share the Road’s behalf. We act as a resource to bring initiatives and concerns from the Greater Sudbury cycling community to our MPPs. We also keep our MPPs informed of Share the Road’s provincial initiatives.
Last week, as part of a province-wide survey of Ontario MPP candidates, we sent out a survey to the candidates for the Sudbury and Nickel Belt ridings. Since the election is within the next few days (June 12), we’re summarizing the responses that we received for your information.
Below are the questions we asked the candidates (they were sent a pdf via email and a link to do the survey online on our website), followed by the responses to date from the candidates. We thank the candidates who took the time to answer our survey.
The Share the Road Cycling Coalition and the Ontario Cycling Advocacy Network (OntarioCAN) is conducting a survey among provincial nominated candidates in Ontario to better the opinions and priorities of candidates seeking elected office in the 2014 Ontario provincial election.
